1. So let’s start today’s very easy recipe. To make summer in the cooker,I have taken half a cup of toor i.e. arhar dal. Only arhar dal is used in sambar but if you do not like arhar dal then you can also use moong dal of your choice but it is traditional. Sambar is made from tur dal i.e. arhar dal.

2. So we will wash the lentils thoroughly with water. If you want, you can also soak it.

If the dal is not soaked for more than 10 minutes, then let us move towards the pressure cooker. In the pressure cooker, we will heat two to three spoons of oil. The use of oil in sambar is less.

We will add one tablespoon of mustard or mustard seeds, one-fourth teaspoon of asafoetida and then add lots of curry leaves.

1. Among the vegetables, here I have taken pumpkin, here I have taken drumstick, here I have taken potato and with it I have taken bottle gourd.

2. So here we will mix everything well, as soon as the masala gets mixed with the vegetables, we will add this soaked dal in it.

3. So I put this toor dal here, mix the dal well with the spices and then add water and whistle. Sambhar is a very tasty and healthy dish, meaning we have added so many vegetables in it that there is no need to add anything else, so here I have used four cups of water for half a cup of toor dal.

4. So here we will mix everything well and do not add too much water, otherwise the water will start coming out from the whistle of the cooker. First cook it well.

5. Cook on medium flame till four whistles. If you are making it for children, then do not add the drumstick in it or fry the drumstick separately and add it because the drumstick will become soft in the pressure cooker, so they will eat the threads like this. If the time comes, if you are making it for children then do not add the drumsticks or fry them separately and add them.

So either you soak the tamarind in water and take out its pulp or if not then you can add water to the tamarind paste, desolder it and add it. Now we will make tadka for sambar.

How to make Tadka for Sambar Recipe

1. So to make tadka, I have heated a tadka pan here, we will put two spoons of oil in it, as soon as the oil gets heated, we will add only two to three dried red chillies in it and use fresh curry leaves.
